Just a start

Here is my first exploration of blogging. While I am somewhat of a "techie" I have never felt the need to post my musings for everyone to see. I will be exploring this as an avenue to discuss the trials and tribulations of a technology infused classroom with fellow educators and as a possible communication tool with parents that will allow them to have a better idea of what their child is doing in my classroom.

  1. Hi Tracy,
Discuss we will. So far I have not infused blogs into my classroom, but look forward to the possibilities it might hold. I'm not aware of how educators are using blogs as a communication tool with with parents, but look forward to hearing how you might employ them. I do believe it is critically important for parents to have an idea of what their child is doing in class and hope your exploration in this area brings fruition to this medium. What do you believe in your experiences so far is the best communication tool with parents? For me, at this time, I would have to say the phone works wonders!

  2. Hi Tracy,

This will be an interesting way to get on board with the Web 2.0 our students are accustomed to using now. I like the idea of using this for more parental involvement, too! This will be especially helpful in educating the public as to what we do to help their children succeed in an ever changing environment. I just hope that by the time we all catch up with this technology it hasn't become Web 3.0 (or higher!)

Keep us informed on how you plan to use this blog in your classroom and how much parent involvement you are able to muster up!
